Cole Stephens
May 8 @ 10:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Born and raised in the Pineywoods of East Texas, Nacogdoches native Cole Stephens had a love of music and guitars from a very young age. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather who sang gospel music and toured around the Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas areas, Cole sang in church and found a passion for music.
In high school, Cole fell in love with the Texas Country Music scene and frequented honky-tonks to see his favorite artists play, such as Muscadine Bloodline, Aaron Watson, Josh Abbott, Cody Johnson, Parker McCollum, and Koe Wetzel. Cole was raised listening to southern gospel, 80’s rock, and all varieties of country music. Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, Kenney Chesney, Metallica, Bon Jovi, John Mayer, Van Halen, and Cross Canadian Ragweed are among his favorites.
After the loss of his childhood home to a fire in 2020, Cole turned to his guitar to find enjoyment and release. He began to write his own songs to tell the stories about his experiences . Cole recorded his first three songs, including “Bonfire,“ the summer after graduation. One week before he left for Baylor University, he got the opportunity to open for Joey Greer at Banita Creek Hall. He was hooked the moment he took the stage!
Cole has released eight singles, including “I Could Use Some Rain,” which was inspired by the loss of his home.
