Remi Mae is a native of rural Western Colorado and began her singing/songwriting career in her early teens. She grew up in a family of music lovers, taught herself to play guitar as a source of entertainment and was playing local venues by the age of 17. Always feeling at home onstage, she was not only given solo acoustic openings for local bands, but quickly began opening for nationally known acts such as Shenandoah, Pat Green, Exile, Thompson Square, Cody Canada, Sunny Sweeney, and Laine Hardy.
After some time performing locally, Remi Mae realized that surrounding herself with likeminded artists would nurture her desire to grow as a singer/songwriter, so she set her sights on the Austin, Texas area. After an opening for Cody Canada and The Departed in Grand Junction, Colorado, Canada offered her a job in New Braunfels, and she soon made her bold move south to Texas.
The young artist now finds herself on tour promoting her self-titled debut EP, recorded and produced at “yellow DOG Studios” in Wimberley, Texas. Her tour band includes not only a rhythm section and guitarist from Texas, but Colorado members, as well. When asked what this first recording project means to her, Remi Mae says, “It’s the beginning of a long road of self-expression.” You can hear all six songs off the new Remi Mae EP on your favorite streaming platform.
