Richard Weiss has been making music and architecture in Austin for 30 years. He played 5 SXSW showcases, was an Austin Music Award’s Best Pop Band winner (1993-94), fronts Austin’s premier Hedwig and the Angry Inch tribute band (The Sideways Grimace) and plays perfect albums live front-to-back (Van Halen, Radiohead, R.E.M., etc.…) with the band Recovering.

When he puts on his glasses, Weiss is the architect for Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Kerbey Lane Cafe, the Collings Guitar Factory, the bathrooms at the Saxon Pub, and a multitude of projects that contribute to the fantastic fabric of our fair city.

In 2020, Richard started writing songs to celebrate his 50th year, and as the world regressed, these songs became a therapeutic chronicle of a year that no one expected.

Starkitect now offers group therapy with songs and stories to help you laugh (and cry) through the pain. No insurance required!
