Stonehoney
October 12 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Stonehoney are a roots rock, four part harmony singing group comprised of Shawn Davis (gtr. and vocals), Nick Randolph (gtr. and vocals), Phil Hurley (gtr. and vocals) and David Phenicie (bass and vocals). The group first came together in Los Angeles in 2006 as a songwriter in the round but quickly blossomed into one of the finest live groups on the scene. Their sound and songs caught the attention of legendary producer Ric Wake and their first album “Songs From a Hillside Living Room” followed.A chance encounter in Austin, TX on route to Nashville introduced them to Polly Parsons, the only child of the infamous ex/Byrd and Burrito Brother Gram Parsons who brought them directly to the home of Eddie Wilson, owner of Threadgills and the Armadillo World Headquarters..Wilson, an architect of the Austin musical community and his friends immediately embraced the group and plans to relocate to Nashville were quickly scrapped for a move to Austin, the musical hotbed of Texas.Quickly after settling in Austin the band were signed by beloved Red Dirt troubadour Jimmy LaFave to his newly created Music Road Records. The group cut the all live in the studio album “The Cedar Creek Sessions” with help from incredible musicians like Earl Poole Ball, Louis J Meyers and Ken Coomer. Tours took the band from coast to coast for the next few years, playing amazing gigs like SXSW, Folk Alliance International, The Woody Guthrie Festival, Sisters Folk Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, Old Settlers, Music City Roots and many more. The group parted ways in 2011 and have only come together again twice since. This October will be their first performance in Texas since they split.Their songs and memory have been kept alive by fans and friends across the globeThis is one reunion that you won’t want to miss!
